Your Responsibilities


As a Customer Support Specialist for John Deere located in Johnston, Iowa or Madison, Wisconsin, you will support our delinquent customers across all products by identifying the customer's issues and supporting them by educating, motivating and taking action to resolve delinquent accounts while retaining our customers. In addition, you will:



  • Use telephone negotiating techniques to build and maintain company, customer and dealer relationships

  • Review payment history and account information

  • Update/confirm debtor information

  • Negotiate payment plan modifications according to established policies and procedures

  • Administer collection efforts within federal and state regulations and company policy

  • Assist with account resolutions for misapplied cash and refers problem accounts to supervisors

What Skills You Need



  • Experience working in a call center or related customer service environment

  • The ability to remain seated for long periods of time to perform telephone work in a call center environment

  • Experience managing multiple tasks for multiple products using various systems and processes

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Experience building strong working relationships to resolve customer inquiries

  • Effective problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Strong computer aptitude with the ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge

  • Experience with Microsoft products


What Makes You Stand Out



  • Experience in customer service or collections in a financial environment


Education (or equivalent work experience)



  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent discipline

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
