"Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? Corteva Agriscience?, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont? has an exciting opportunity for a Global Energy & Industrial Gases Buyer for our Johnston, Iowa or Indianapolis, Indiana location.
Execute buy strategies for Energy and Energy-related products and raw materials, as well as the contracting of third-party cogeneration and industrial gas production facilities. Develop deep knowledge and understanding of energy markets and trends. Working closely with business functions and operations, develop plans to support their needs at the lowest total cost. Drive the use of sourcing best practices, systems, and tools.
At the higher level, the function includes the development and implementation of sourcing strategies aligned with the Global Core Strategy Team plans for the main Energy and Energy-related products (Steam & Electricity, Natural Gas, Fuels, Renewables, Industrial Gases).
Brief Job Description:

Although the position is regional, based in Europe, the successful candidate needs to collaborate with the businesses served as well as the other regional energy buyers in order to share ideas and best practices that drive Innovation and maximize capabilities to ensure that the Global Energy Team can continue to win in the global market.
This position is responsible for preparing, negotiating, managing, and coordinating energy and energy-related raw material or generating agreements for assigned regions of responsibility. It requires a good understanding of the energy markets, the associated processes, supply chain, market dynamics, capability of the suppliers, the business drivers, as well as best sourcing practices. The job develops procurement strategies in conjunction with the businesses with regards to the supply chain, pricing, service, and quality.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and execute the strategy to manage price and supply risk in order to maximize competitive position and ensure security of supply
Manage the suppliers to meet Business and Operation requirements through metrics and feedback systems; resolve quality, service, supply, and invoicing issues with the suppliers and assist in process improvement
Identify and lead supplier improvement programs
Utilize Six Sigma methodology in carrying out responsibilities
Negotiate, prepare, and execute procurement agreements
Research, use, and report on energy-market levels, trends, opportunities and risks

Minimum Skills Required:
Proven leadership skills and strategic planning capability
Solid interpersonal/facilitation/influencing/and change management skills
Uses innovative thinking and approaches in structuring purchase arrangements, and resolving quality/service issues with suppliers
Has solid computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
Strong analytical and negotiation skills

Additional Information:
BS degree with 5 year + Sourcing, business, and commercial experience preferred
Green Belt or Black Belt certified or required to be certified within one year from the start of the assignment
