Security Officer - Night shift
DuPont Pioneer is seeking a full-time Security Officer to promote and provide a safe and secure environment for employees by physically protecting property and facilities. We have an opening on night shift (Midnight - 8AM). This includes weekends and holidays, and occasional on-call may also be required.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Investigate security incidents (thefts, break-in's, etc.), prepare reports, and review information with Security Manager.
Provide security services when potential risks exist such as employee terminations, threats, suspected employee theft, domestic violence, potential suicide situations, stalking, etc. Inform and coordinate with police as necessary.
Provide surveillance, body guard services, and executive protection as needed.
Conduct building tours and check designated property to prevent vandalism, spot fires or other hazards, and control the access of unauthorized individuals.
Conduct facility and premise monitoring. Includes the following: assure doors/windows/vaults are locked and secure; quarterly test inspection and documentation; check to see that equipment is not alarming or operating unnecessarily; monitor building temperature; assure company vehicles are secure; monitor weather situations ready to activate employee notification procedures; monthly building paging system inspection and documentation; perform research test plot security; report maintenance issues e.g. lights not working (inside and out).
Provide and promote safety at all times. Attend, participate, and complete all required safety programs; e.g. Security Dept. training, quarterly CS Safety programs, frequent driver, and learning & development. Set the example for good safety and report safety concerns promptly. Employee, visitor, and property safety includes the following: check for unauthorized people on the property; escort employees to their cars; check employee and company vehicles in parking lots.
Provide traffic control and other services for special events/functions as assigned. Prepare written time log and accident/incident reports. Respond to all campus emergency calls.
Report security system maintenance and repairs for; Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) equipment, phones, radios, flashlights, and other equipment.
The following are required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical ability to: work in different environments from extreme cold to extreme hot; walk long distances and be mobile for an eight-hour period; move easily at a quick pace; move up and down stairs quickly; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; see well in dimly and brightly lit areas.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in first aid techniques including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Ability to successfully complete Basic Security Officer Training Series (video training).
Possession of valid Iowa driver's license.
