Laboratory Assistant
- Participates in activities in support of Long DNA technologies lab operations.
- Such activities may include some or all of the following processes and methods:
Cell and nuclei isolation, ultra-high molecular weight (uHMW) DNA purification and quantification, DNA gel electrophoresis. - Receives training in core technologies and assists in the operation of some or all of the following:
PacBio SMRT sequencing, Illumina sequencing, Bionano DLS optical mapping and Oxford Nanopore sequencing. - Learns how to use and operate all support equipment, which may include centrifuges, DNA analyzers, fluorometers, thermal cyclers and microscopes.
- Accomplishes quality assurance.
- Maintains lab equipment and adequate level of lab supplies to assure timely achievement of lab activities.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
